Tenant Workspaces User Guide

This guide covers how users interact with tenant workspaces in TotalMeet, including joining a workspace, switching between workspaces, and managing main site access.

Overview

Tenant workspaces provide isolated environments for teams and organizations within TotalMeet. Each workspace has its own branding, members, and isolation settings. As a user, you may belong to one or more workspaces.

Joining a Workspace

  1. Receive an invitation link from a workspace owner or admin.
  2. Click the link — it takes you to the registration page with the tenant pre-selected.
  3. Complete the registration form to create your account.
  4. After registration, you are automatically linked to the tenant workspace.

Via Admin Assignment

If a platform administrator or tenant owner adds you directly, you receive a membership assignment without needing an invitation link. You will see the workspace in your account menu after your next login.

Workspace Switching

If you belong to multiple workspaces, a workspace switcher appears in your account dropdown menu (top-right corner).

  • Primary site — Select "Primary site (no workspace)" to leave the tenant context and use the main platform.
  • Switch workspace — Click any workspace name to switch to that tenant's context.
  • The current workspace is marked with "(current)".
  • Each workspace entry shows the workspace name, slug, and your role (Owner, Admin, or Member).

Main Site Access

Depending on your account configuration, you may have access to the main (primary) site in addition to your tenant workspace.

Tenant-Only Access

If you have tenant-only access:

  • You see an informational banner at the top of pages with a link to enable main site access.
  • Click "Learn more and enable" to visit the main site opt-in page.
  • Review the benefits and check the confirmation box.
  • Click "Enable Main Site Access" to gain access to platform-wide features.

Benefits of Main Site Access

  • Access the main site dashboard and features.
  • Subscribe to billing plans and add-ons.
  • Join other tenants (if invited).
  • Access platform-wide resources.

Workspace Branding

Each workspace may have its own visual identity, including:

  • Custom logo and favicon.
  • Custom site slogan.
  • Custom theme.
  • Custom footer attribution.

When you switch to a workspace, the site branding updates to reflect that workspace's configuration. If no custom branding is set, the workspace inherits the main site defaults.

Profile Within a Workspace

Your profile information (name, email, timezone) is shared across the platform. However, workspace owners may set per-tenant profile overrides for display name, avatar, title, timezone, pronouns, and bio. These overrides only affect how you appear within that specific workspace.
